Experience:
Instructor: (February 1997 to Present) Serve at Great Lakes Naval Training Center. Responsible for the training of Engineering Officers and Gas Turbine Systems Technicians in all aspects of Gas Turbine and Waste Heat Boiler operations. Train personnel in the operation, maintenance, and repairs of all Engineering Plant Equipment.
Engineering Officer of the Watch and Gas Systems Electrician: (June 1991 to January 1997) Served aboard the USS Hamilton (DD 1021). Responsible for the operation, trouble shooting, and maintenance of four General Electric LM 2500 Main Propulsion Gas Turbines as well as three Allison 501-K17 Gas Turbine Generator Sets and associated control consoles.
- Demonstrated the ability to effectively lead and supervise a watch team of seven personnel during day to day operations under normal and emergency conditions.
- Monitored the operation of main propulsion engines, electrical generator sets, electrical power distribution, refrigeration, air conditioning, lube oil, fuel oil, and both high and low pressure air systems.
- Maintained and repaired electrical equipment such as motors, motor controllers, batteries, circuit breakers, and bus transfer equipment.
Achievements:
Qualified as Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS).
Awarded two Navy Achievement Medals and three Letters of Commendation.
Selected as Sailor of the Month in December of 1995.
